Doerken Names New Fastener Technical Specialist |
Grass Lake, MI - Dörken Corporation USA, the Michigan-based North American unit of Dörken MKS-Systeme GmbH (Herdecke, Germany) and manufacturers of multifunctional, micro-layer corrosion protection systems has announced the appointment of Ron Strong to the position of Global Fastener Technical Specialist. Strong will be responsible for providing service and support to automotive industry OEMs, suppliers, coating applicators, and various standards organizations
Strong brings more than 31 years of engineering experience with General Motors. In addition to his fastener technical expertise, he was involved with fastener finish development, and was responsible for fastener engineering standards. Strong also represented GM at USCAR providing support through the Fastener Committee. USCAR (United States Council for Automotive Research) is an umbrella organization for collaborative research amongst Ford, GM and Chrysler.
Strong will continue to be involved with national standards, particularly the ASME B18 Fastener Standards Committee and the SAE Fasteners Committee.
